# General Transmission > General Transmission: transmission repair and gear-train service on Gentry Way. - Trade: Transmission Repair - Location: Las Vegas Valley (serves Reno / Northern Nevada) - Website: https://generaltransmissionreno.com/ - Phone: 775-786-5888 - 702 Alliance status: Listed: researched from public sources, not yet claimed by the owner - Profile: https://702alliance.com/members/general-transmission/ General Transmission concentrates on the parts that transfer an engine's power to the road. The family-owned Reno business specializes in transmission repair and gear-train maintenance, serving customers from Reno, Sparks, Carson City and the Truckee area. ## From Vasken to Peter Vasken Attashian established the business in 1994. Its current owner is his son Peter, who worked in the operation from its early years and earned a business degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. The company's history separates the founder's role from Peter's present responsibility for running the shop. BBB independently identifies Peter Attashian as owner and lists the business at 890 Gentry Way. That matches the current company contact page, which gives customers a single Reno location for arranging service. ### Repair, rebuild or diagnosis The shop's published services cover automatic and manual transmissions, powertrain diagnostics, maintenance and rebuilding. It describes its technicians as certified through the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association and presents transmission work as the central specialty of the business. A customer can start with a question about symptoms rather than an assumed replacement. The company's online forms allow a service request or a quote inquiry, creating a way to describe the problem before bringing the vehicle in. The repair scope is discussed for the particular vehicle and concern. ## Getting in touch General Transmission publishes weekday operating hours, its main telephone number and a separate after-hours contact route. It also offers online appointment requests and a text-based inquiry option, alongside the ordinary contact form. The website discusses warranty options for transmission work; those terms should be confirmed against the repair being proposed. The useful starting point is the same whether a driver is local or coming from a neighboring community: provide the vehicle details and describe what it is doing, then arrange an assessment with the Gentry Way shop. ## Contact General Transmission 890 Gentry Way, Reno, NV 89502 [Business website](https://generaltransmissionreno.com/) 775-786-5888 Researched October 2, 2026.
