## Forty years, three addresses, one family

Ferraro's started in 1985 as a six-table deli and pizzeria that doubled as an Italian grocery, opened by Gino and Rosalba Ferraro. Their son Mimmo and his sister spent their childhood pricing groceries on the shelves. As the cooking caught on, the shelves gave way to tables. In the summer of 1990 Gino went home to Calabria and trained in a friend's restaurant kitchen, and in 1992 the family moved to West Flamingo Road and turned the place into a fine-dining room. Strip casino hosts began sending their players over, at a time when serious restaurants off the Strip were rare.

Today the restaurant sits on Paradise Road, across from the Virgin Hotel. Mimmo, a 2003 graduate of the California Culinary Academy who also cooked in Tuscany, runs the kitchen as executive chef, and Gino still works the room. On most nights you will meet a Ferraro.

## On the table

Pasta is rolled by hand every day, from ravioli to the hand-cut pappardelle the house is known for. The osso buco has been on the menu since the first day. Bread and stocks are made in house.

The cellar is the other draw: more than 1,800 labels and about 22,000 bottles, focused on Italian bottles such as Barolo, Brunello and Amarone. Italy's Gambero Rosso gave the wine list its Tre Bottiglie in 2023 and the restaurant its Tre Forchette in 2024.

**Hours:** lunch Monday to Friday, 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM; dinner daily, 4 PM to 10:30 PM; happy hour 4 to 7 PM. Reservations are recommended.
