Before buying a used piano, it helps to know what is happening inside it. Piano evaluations are one part of Kelly Dugger's Las Vegas service: she checks an instrument's condition, identifies repair needs and explains the work it may require before a buyer takes on the move.

Dugger owns Dugger Music Services and is a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild. Her practice covers tuning, repair, regulation and cleaning, with online scheduling for appointments around Las Vegas.

## More than bringing notes into tune

A basic tuning visit includes fine tuning, a pitch raise when needed, and minor repairs or adjustments. Her published service description distinguishes those small fixes from larger work, for which she gives an estimate and discusses options before starting.

Sticky keys, single-key adjustments, foreign objects and string replacement appear among the kinds of piano problems addressed. Regulation is also offered, focusing on the mechanism through which a player's touch reaches the strings. Humidity-system installation is listed separately for customers considering that equipment.

## Inside the instrument

The deep-cleaning service reaches areas a person dusting the piano's exterior would not normally touch. That includes the action's many parts, the soundboard, spaces beneath strings and underneath the keys. It is available as an addition to service rather than being described as an exterior polish.

Dugger also has a master's degree in music education. Her website describes teaching and mentoring other technicians alongside her own service work, connecting musical training with the practical craft of maintaining an instrument.

Customers can review current appointment types and rates online, then choose a time through the booking links. For an unfamiliar instrument or a particular fault, the direct business email and phone provide a way to explain what is happening before arranging a visit.
