## Build-your-own Indian bowls

Desi Flavors is a fast-casual Indian restaurant at 9475 Double R Boulevard, Suite 1, in Reno. Diners choose a base, a protein, toppings and a sauce. The base is a basmati rice bowl, a burrito or a naan wrap. The restaurant’s site describes the format as a “Chipotle-style build-your-own model” and says ingredients are prepared fresh daily, from butter chicken to mint chutney.

## The family behind it

Edible Reno-Tahoe reported that three brothers, Jasmeet “Jazz,” Navraj and Sukhraj Baduwalia, run the restaurant, and gave an opening date of April 23, 2026. Reno News & Review, which interviewed Jazz in June 2026, says the brothers and their father, Binder, own it. The paper reports that Binder had owned SS Super, which it calls the first Indian restaurant in Reno, and later Taste of India, which he sold in 2010, before returning to the business after 16 years of retirement.

Jazz is also an actor, and the News & Review notes he is best known as the Blue Power Ranger in *Power Rangers Beast Morphers*. He told the paper, “My dad is definitely my strongest culinary influence,” and spoke of growing up in two kitchens, his father’s restaurant and his family’s home.

## Menu and ordering

The website’s online menu lists, as of this check:

- Classic naan at $3.99, garlic naan at $4.50 and potato-and-pea samosas at $6.99
- Chai at $5.00, fountain drinks at $3.50 and mango lassi at $5.99

Customers can order online. The site lists hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, while Edible Reno-Tahoe’s opening report said the restaurant was closed Wednesdays, so it is worth confirming before a visit. The site gives an email contact but no phone number.
