A jazz singer as well as a cafe owner, she gave Carson City a room where coffee, food and creative gatherings could share the same address. The building itself dates to 1869, when the Olkavich brothers established their mercantile business there. ## Breakfast with a name of its own The June Benediction puts pesto, spinach, onion, cilantro, avocado and eggs on an English muffin. It is one example of a breakfast menu that takes familiar forms in its own direction. Steamed-egg croissants come with choices such as ham and provolone or spinach, red onion and pesto, while lox bagels offer East Coast and West Coast combinations.
