Owner Andrea Marquez teaches several of them herself at this traditional quilt shop on South Durango Drive. ## From craft fair to fabric store The Christmas Goose began as a traveling craft show organized by Jeanette Sherrick, held each spring and fall in model homes around the Valley. In 1993 it settled into a gift shop selling collectibles and handmade décor, and fabric slowly took over. In 2005 the shop moved to its current spot and went to quilting full time. Jeanette's daughter, Andrea Marquez, now owns it. She started working there at 15. Her husband, Jason, later added another longarm machine, a 15-needle embroidery machine and a printer for custom shirts, photos on fabric and quilt labels. ## On the shelves The shop says it carries more Civil War-style fabric and flannel than any other store in the Valley, along with supplies for hand work, wool appliqué and paper piecing.
