Learning to knit or crochet can start with two hours and one teacher at Cactus Rose Needle Arts. The Las Vegas shop offers individual beginner sessions with Derek Krause, along with shorter coaching appointments for people working through a pattern, technique or unfinished project.

## Brent and Derek’s local shop

Co-owners Brent Meldola and Derek Krause were identified in What Now Las Vegas’s coverage of the shop’s 2026 opening plans. The current online store is operating with yarn, tools, project kits and lesson bookings. Knitting Fever’s retailer directory independently lists the business on South Decatur Boulevard and names several of the brands it has stocked.

The selection includes Ella Rae, Jody Long and LYKKE, along with Universal Yarn, King Cole and addi products shown in the shop’s own catalog. Customers can buy yarn in individual quantities or in larger sweater-quantity packages. Knitting needles and accessories sit alongside the fiber rather than requiring a separate specialist order.

### From a kit to a new skill

Current project offerings include Juniper Moon Farm scarf and shawl kits. The Ethel Scarf kit pairs Zooey Stripes cotton-linen yarn with a printed pattern, providing a defined project rather than asking a beginner to assemble every component from scratch. The catalog also lists addi Rocket circular needles in several lengths.

Lessons are available for both complete beginners and experienced makers. The shop’s description invites customers to bring a question or an existing project, with one-on-one instruction adapted to their experience. Beginner knitting and beginner crochet are booked separately; continued coaching uses shorter sessions.

The manufacturer directories give the address as 1717 South Decatur, Space C25. The business also sells online, extending the same inventory beyond an in-person shopping visit.
