## Bad Owl Coffee Roasters: Yuzo Kono and Annie Bailey Cheng’s Wizarding-World-Inspired Roastery

Yuzo Kono and Annie Bailey Cheng opened Bad Owl Coffee in Henderson in 2015 after a trip to Universal Studios Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter convinced them they wanted to bring that immersive atmosphere back to a non-gaming, alcohol-free social space near their Henderson home. The Hedwig-inspired name nods to Harry’s owl, and the menu has anchored Bad Owl Coffee Roasters as one of the valley’s most-reviewed independent coffee operators in less than a decade. The brand has since expanded from the Henderson flagship to Southwest Las Vegas and Downtown locations.

The Bad Owl Coffee Roasters Henderson flagship at 10575 South Eastern Avenue carries more than 1,190 verified Yelp reviews. The fully Harry Potter–inspired aesthetic — house-themed menus, broomstick decor, and themed drinkware — distinguishes Bad Owl from every other Las Vegas Valley coffee shop, and has built a recurring tourist + locals customer base that has supported three valley locations.

## Bad Owl Coffee Roasters in the Las Vegas Valley

Bad Owl Coffee Roasters is women-owned and operates as one of the few Las Vegas Valley coffee roasters with a fully themed retail aesthetic.
